A little explanation of the intended symbolism may help convey some of the meaning.
The two rounded interlocking forms are an abstract representation of mother (blue) and child (red) in the turmoil of miscarriage.
With the mother's form there is a sense of protection; the almost touching, interlocking shapes invoking a shared and tender intimacy.
The child's form itself is relatively smooth and peaceful, but there is violent motion nearby; a tearing away from the bloody bed (bottom left) and a irresistable suction upwards. Note the angelic form (upper right), indicating a presiding heavenly presence.
The yellow splash (bottom right) suggests residual emotions of joy and hope, memories of a brief existence that was and will be lovingly cherished.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13)
